Their cooking style is quite unique, and every dish is packed with amazing flavour. The portions are very large and generous, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. "After visiting the fireflies in Kota Tinggi, my family and I stopped by Public Restaurant for dinner—and we were pleasantly surprised by how scrumptious the food was! Every dish was full of flavour. The 泰式鸡 (Thai-style chicken) had an incredibly crispy skin and juicy, tender meat. The 四大天王 with anchovies and belacan was rich, spicy, and fragrant—absolutely delicious. We also loved the 沙锅豆腐 (claypot tofu), loaded with vegetables, soft tofu, and savoury roasted pork—comforting and satisfying. The 麦片虾 (butter cereal prawns) were another highlight: crispy, buttery, and perfectly cooked. On top of the great food, the service made the experience even better. The lady boss was very friendly and welcoming. She shared that this is a family-run business, with her three sons helping out—They are chef behind the amazing dishes we had! A truly heartwarming dining experience with delicious food and genuine hospitality. Highly recommended if you’re in Kota Tinggi!"

"A hidden gem in Kota Tinggi. An old school restaurant serving great food at reasonable prices. The service is great and servers are attentive. Food is amazing, the sweet sour pork, steamed fish and more. What we loved about it is they don’t hard sell you to order any expensive stuffs. As matter of fact they would say it’s enough and don’t have to order too much and waste it. If you’re around the area, do given them a try."

"Food - pricey if you order seafood dishes. I personally like the tofu dish. The Calamansi juice is called balalong here. Service - server is attentive and able to advise the signature dishes… Ambience - was shocked to walk in and see a group of customers smoking right inside the restaurant while at their table . Luckily they have 2 areas, where we have been escorted to the next door (claimed to be non smoking area)."
